i need money...

I need money. Whoever is able, please donate some to me.

LTA is intending to sell their EZ-Link subsidiary. I feel that it is a worth-while investment and therefore, we (now just me...) should buy it. Anyone else interested?

last day...

It's Friday. And it's the Friday of break week. Which means Break is coming to an end. Sadness lah.

Now let's see how I've spent a week of "free" time.

Went to school on Monday. Went to school on Tuesday. Went to school on Wednesday.

DOA on Monday. I must say that I pretty happy with the proposal that was produced. At least Dr*A seems to like it.

Tuesday, another proposal. This time it was Nanoworld. I'm want to be more enthusiastic about the module, but the math is killing me. I finally finished the 196 MCQ questions to prepare us for the mid-term test. It was draining to say the least. At least the day ended with soccer and dessert. Nothing can beat Ser Fong desserts at Dover Market. (Free Plug)

Wednesday was a real drag. The meeting for the business module ended at 8ish. But I guess its fine, at least we managed to settle the proposal.

Was suppose to go have dinner at Marina Bay, but everyone is too busy or feels that it's too far away. Singapore is only so big. And it's in the middle of Singapore. So how far away is it? For weird reasons, I've always been attracted to having live prawns at Marina Bay. And I haven't had them in a long while. (Another plug)

Thursday turned out to be the most relaxing day. Spent the entire day at home. Finished up the stupid physics questions. Watched Mythbusters. If you have cable, watch Mythbusters. It's the most unscience science show you can possibly find. Learn science without the headaches. (Another unconscious plug)

So, now it's Friday afternoon. Will end up at Timber for dinner. Hope it's not too expensive. Hoping. Hoping really hard. Hoping the music will be good as well.

Haven't really studied for anything. Need to start writing papers. So not looking forwad to next week. Need a break form the break. Need a neck massage as well...

only in singapore...

Everyone knows that education is important in Singapore. However, only in Singapore do things like these happen.

Boy torches a relative's car.

Judge allows sentencing to be delayed for a month and a half so that the boy can take his 'O' Levels.

Education is important in Singapore. This is not the first time that such an incident has happened either. Often lawyers argue, based on their client's good school records, that a trip to jail would destroy the bright future of their client. If their clients were really such good students, they might have enough common sense to think twice before crossing into the dark side. All the better if you come form a well-established school. In no way referring to any in particular.

Even in jail, you get opportunities to study, or further your studies. Where else can you get such an educationalistic view on life? Yes, education is important.

But is delaying sentencing so that the adolescent can take his exams is really necessary? I think not. Perhaps I would be singing a different tune if I actually knew the adolescent.

This shows that imitation is the best form of flattery.

varnish poisoning...

I'm having an overdose. A varnish overdose. I was varnishing the new shelves and a drop of varnish landed on my wrist. As varnish goes, it was sticky. If you didn't know, varnish is usually sticky. I lost hair even. Had to remove it to remove the wad of varnish. I think the varnish seeped into the open hair pore and now I'm experiencing a local varnish poisoning.

There is a painful lump where the hairs got pulled out. I hope it doesn't grow any bigger.

holidays...

The mid-term break is here. But as all other 1 week breaks. They are not real breaks. It's a week for you to catch up with all the readings and other rubbish that you have been missing out since semester started. I must say that sleep is not included in the list of stuff to catch up.

Although I must admit that I can distinctively at least 2 of my lecterers asking us to not do anything except relax and really take a break. One other lecturer did say to use the time to write her paper though. Haha.

No holidays. As usual. And to the kids reading this, "jia you" for the exams! I know you all can do it.

ads...

I'm suppose to be looking out for ads. Print ads in particular, for a business module.

Anyways, I just watched a Starhub ad for overseas calls. It was dissappointing. It was just numbers numbers numbers. How interesting can numbers be? Especially after what M1 has offered recently.

I don't recall if I've actually seen it before and M1 is reusing the ad, but the ad for the overseas call is really good. At least it's really funny. Anyways, I always thought that M1 would die out within the next couple of years due to lack of advertising. But if these are the stuff they are going to come up with, Singtel and Starhub need to watch their behinds.

If you haven't seen the new M1 ad, you can watch it on youtube.

a big relief...

After the presentation this morning, I feel a great relief. A great weight seems to have been lifted. YAY!!!

Maybe it's because I decided that I would commit all, that's right... ALL, of my problems to God.

Will have to try to see this through...

Anyways, GREAT job to everyone for the presentation today!!!

underlying ideology...

I took a 151 home today. What was so special about the bus? The bus did not have seats like normal buses. The interior of the bus was modelled after a bar. So there were comfortable cushioned chairs and the walls were all covered in red carpet. Being on such a bus for the first time, I was naturally quite amused. I was even more impressed when Jinha*n told me that if you turned your bluetooth on, you'll be able to download a song. The other people in the bus looked equally intrigued by the bus. The bus even had its own channel. The television screen was not showing TVMoblie. It was playing MTVs.

There was one thing that the bus lacked was the bell. The bell here refers to the button you press when you want to alight. On normal buses, there are possibly 2-3 within easy reach? But on this bus, there are 2 bells. So what's the ideology that the bus is trying to tell you? I think it's subtly saying that you don't need the bell because you don't feel the need to get off the bus.

prayer...

Today I was spending some time in the arts canteen when a table not far from us started to celebrate a guy's birthday. What was so interesting about this 3 people trying to celebrate a friend's birthday? Nothing, really.

But then they started praying for the birthday guy. What's so special about this? Nothing, as well. We do it all the time when we prayer for a person's birthday or when we say grace, we pray in public. What's so special about praying in public? Nothing, nothing really special about that.

But, as they were praying, this girl walked past and stared at them. This irked me. She had a look that said, "What the heck are you doing this in public??!?!?" And she stared for like a good 5 seconds. Long enough for any Ah Beng to pick a fight for staring. Hmmm, can't help feel that she isn't Singaporean.

Need to get back to writing the business GEM paper. I REALLY hope i got the gist right.

change the world...

Just finished watching Evan Almightly.

And the main point is... how can one man change the world?

With an act of random kindness everyday.

And act of random kindness stands for A.R.K.

So men change the world by building A.R.K.s.

Today is N*ational Bib*le Qui*z. For all those at YMLC and all the young punks who decided not to go or had better things to do... I say good for you. I think I totally wasted too much time there.

And the most important thing, we are 9th and 10th this year.
