country of complainers...

singaporeans really do complain alot... yes they do... admit it... you complain once too often too... and so do i... this blog is one big complain...

recently... the "hot" topic is the one regarding schools starting too early... especially since most schools are now single session... so there is more reason to have school start later... blah blah blah...

really... school starting later??? i actually don't mind... but i must say that i don't actually go to school anymore... at least in uni... the timetable is set by yourself... unless you really have screwed up modules that start at 8 am every morning... you can actually get modules that start your day at 12 every day...

so back to the topic... i can understand that parents have questions about school starting so early... but actually the teachers are not complaining... they have to get up early... and kids sleep late these days... not the early time like long ago... and most kids are still half asleep when they step into school...

parents say that their kids don't get enough sleep which will impair their learning abilty... and ya...

but it's going to be a vicious cycle... when the school starts later... the kids are just going to get to sleep later... and they are still going to go to bed late... so unless thay can get their kids to sleep early... it's not going to help... much...

read the emails...

there is a lesson to be learnt today...
i must read the school email more regularly...
today i went to school early.. thinking there was a quiz... when i reached there my friend told me that it had be postponed... so there was no quiz today... studied for nothing... cannot believed that i actually studied...
desperate for marks...

aiya... dunno why so affected by some lazy prick today... was eating luch at clementi today... then all of a sudden got this guy come up to me and ask for a dollar because he was thirsty...
and the worse thing was he ask so softly like he dun dare to let other people hear him ask for money... this guy so pissed me off because he doesn't even look like he need money lor... he was wearing a soccer jersay... pls lor... want to beg for money at least wear something that make you look like you need it lah... he was old... like 30ish... and he has the BALLS to ask me... someone younger than him to give him money...
luckily he didn't make a big fuss over it... cause i was already quite pissed at him... then after that i felt like beating something up... getting abit of a violent streak lately...

i just finished my econs readings...(yes it is quite amazing that i have finished the readings... still behind the readings for all the rest of the modules...)

well i just found out about what mircosoft did and how stupid some decisions can be... okie the readings was regarding how the state can prevent monopolies and hence "save" the consumer a ton of money...

haha... they found that mircosoft was indeed monopolising the market... but the dumbest thing was what they decided had to be done to solve the problem... the courts required mircosoft to fork out a billion dollars worth of computers and computer software for public schools... well well well... do you see the problem with this? i guess the people who decided this did not... they unitentionally expanded mircosoft's hold on the market share... computers donated by mircosoft will obviously be run with a windows operating system... and all the kids will then purchase windows based systems and software when they get their own systems at home because they are used to it and it's compatable with the programmes in school...

okie... just wanted to blog something...

time...

okie... i watched a movie today... fearless... it's the most important movie of jet li's movie carrer because it's the LAST martial arts movie that he's going to appear in... well i guess the amazing thing is not that i actually watched a movie like fearless... the amazing thing is that i watched it at empress...

where is this empress you may ask... you may even ask why it is so amazing that i would watch a movie there... well empress is one of the first multi-screen cinemas in singapore... it was the place to be about 10 years ago... then it had 3 screens and the line to the ticket counter is one that would snake around the place and it would move at a SLOW snail pace... today it is still a 3 screen "multi-screen" cinema... they even still have hand written tickets that are a reminder to my childhood... the place is unfortunately tearing itself down... it is old and it belongs to an era long past... the only good thing which is also the only reason why we went there to watch the movie was because the price for a weekend movie is also stuck in the era it belongs to... at $7... sure the comfort isn't quite there... but i guess one cannot really ask for everything... if the cinema survives till i'm a senior citizen... i'll be able to watch movies there at $3.50 every weekday... can't wait... but that be another story in about 34 years... so watch this space...

anyways... maybe the movie wasn't as exciting for me.. but i was thinking about something during the movie... recently... i have stopped going to the cinemas every week... yes... i used to watch a movie every week... at least one... but then again... so do alot of people i know...
well recently... i started watching movies again... it's because there are a couple of stuff that i wanted to watch... well... even though movies have now all more or less standardise themselves at around 2 hours... recently the time during movies just seem to run that much slower... maybe i'm getting older... and the time outside the movies are running at just that much bit faster... maybe i'm just getting less enjoyment out of the flicks... tomolo i'll be watching fun with dick and jane... it's suppose to be funny... i hope i don't feel it's draggy...
