a sign in church...

This sign is found in the children's room in church. I bet it's pastor Mi*ngShu*n's bright idea.

blessing in disguise...

So I kinda sprained my ankle yesterday. The grass looked even enough. But the ground underneath wasn't. I cannot really decided if I have a sprain. There's no swelling. But it still hurts abit when I walk. At least it keep me home to finish up papers.

camp...

I realised that I haven't blogged about camp. So why not now, when I got a 3500 word essay to write? Yea, timing is awesome. Well, I should have written something about it sooner. But it seemed that highlighting the insane number of hours I slept sounded more like an achievement on Saturday.

Okie, how was camp?

It was awesome. It brought back memories of how it was like when I was in secondary school. Doing random things. Being made to do random things. Even though we toughen our stand with the Boys, it did seem that they enjoyed the camp alot more. Revival? Maybe. I enjoyed it. I think the officers enjoyed it. Sitting and talking with the officers at Labrador Park surrounded by a hundred sleeping Boys was probably a time well spent.

On a much harsher note. Many people don't understand why we do what we do. Namely go back to secondary school and participate in an activity that is meant for kids. It doesn't pay, it doesn't really say much about you and it definitely doesn't mean squat to your future employers.

And it's dang hard to explain to people why I go back. Trying to explain is like trying to get people to convert to a religion that advocates eating dog poo cause it would enlighten the spirit. No, there's no such religion, and yes, it's hard to convince people to how it actually enlightens you. And recently, it seems easier to just tell people that I have no clue. Of course quitting is the easiest way out. No more stupid questions about why old people like us are there and no more stupid people trying to raise themselves over you by trying to demean the stuff that we do.

I'm tired of people asking me. So don't ask. Actually, unless you are still participating in a uniformed groups' activities, don't act like you know how to read me. So no more talking about why I do this.

sleep...

I think I just totally screwed up my body clock.

Camp usually entails a lack of sleep. In this particular edition, I was awake for about 28 hours straight. But that's not what screwed my body clock. It's usually what happens after. I slept from 11ish till 3pm. Took a 3 hour break, had lunch, read the papers, finished up the last second book of Narina. Then slept form 6ish till 9pm.

I hope I can sleep later.

tv mobile wisdom...

tv mobile has this 'new' thing that runs across the bottom of the screen that says the most random things. This is what I learnt from tv mobile today.

Virtue does not stand alone. When practiced, it stands righteous.

So the question is. Who does it stand with?

watchmen...

Who watches the Watchmen?

Well, everyone should. If you are old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong then you should watch it. Although, it might screw up your idea of what is right and wrong if you haven't had lots of practice to differentiate the two.

Watchmen is not just a movie. Watching Watchmen was a lesson in ethics.

shooting yourself in the foot...

Today, I experienced for the first time shooting myself in the foot in the process of shooting my mouth off. It got me into quite a bind. I think I should stop talking to people on msn as well. It is probably the easiest place to start a misunderstanding.

good news and bad news...

Well, let's start with the bad news. We didn't make it this year. Next year, we must try again, and we will definitely try harder.

The good news. I'm in. My future is set. I hope it'll be a blast. I'm sure it's not because of the laptop I used.

In the end, everything is in God's hands. And i will give thanks for both the good and the bad.

dialects...

What is a dialect actually? What is a language?

If you had some knowledge regarding languages, then you know that basically there isn't a real big difference. The real difference is that a language receives an official position as it is backed up by a government.

There is actually this saying: A language is a dialect with an army and navy.

So dialects are not stupid. As claimed recently. They still serve some purpose in society. Bridging a certain social distance is always a little better than appearing too "city-fied" too often.

food...

If food was nourishment for the body.
And religion was nourishment for the soul.
Then what is the nourishment for the mind?
What else except knowledge. I think people all need to read more.

one night stands...

After the syntax test, no one cares anymore.

No one really cared in the first place.

It was a simple one night stand.

*disclaimer*

Don't anyhow anyhow one night stand...

a love affair...

Fighting for affection is tough. Especially when you are fighting with more than one person.

I'm fighting for the affections of syntax.

I'm intolerant of people fighting for the affection of syntax.

crazy 3 days...

It's going to be a crazy 3 days and I've basically survived the first day. It was Le*xi group presentations today. Don't think anyone really had any idea what they were talking about. My group included.

Tomorrow is Universe's mid-term. And Wednesday is syntax's test. That is the one I'm most jittery about. Jittery might be an understatement.

In view of the lack of available time, this is the 2nd post of today. There might be a problem.

judgmental...

After watching The Screwtape Letters I think I do judge people. ALOT. Inside my head anyway.

Especially when I'm alone. Look at people. Make mental comment.

Shouldn't be so judgmental.

screwtape letters...

It didn't start very well. But it turned out to be better than expected. I thought it was good.
