a shopping experience...

something i remenbered when i read a article about fake goods in china...
while i was in taiwan i happened to walk past a louis vitton shop...
this shop is in the building taipei 101... high class shops as a taiwan friend flatly stated...
this shop is totally unlike any shop i've ever seen... it is so exculsive that you need to line up to get in... the guy at the door dons a suit and opens the door for you... he's also the one that lets you in... only a certain number of people are allowed in at any one time... hence the line... there were hardly more than 20 partons in the shop... about 5/6 attendants? good service i assume comes with much control... there is a dress code ... can't shop in comfort... have to be apporiately dressed... sounds like an army camp... at least they let pets in... if not the lady with the dog under her arm will be so dissapointed...

a lunch buffet at the grand hyatt...

once in awhile my family would have an offical gathering where we would gather for a meal... usually it's organised my my grand aunt... this time it's my grand aunt's 83rd birthday... it's at the grand hyatt... at a place called the straits market... it's a posh food court as one of my aunts remarked... actaully the place was great... the food was of a certain standard... it had to be... it's at THE grand hyatt... but i can't say much of the people that were there though... hardly recognise most of my cousins... although i can still make out who the older generation was... the staff at the hotel were weird to be honest... during the cake cutting ceremony, after singing the birthday song one of the managers said, quite louldly mind you, "we attract such nice families... this is a such a good family..." then there was this other lady... she's one of the attendants... as we were cutting the cake she walked passed twice... the first time she sang to herself, " happy birthday to me..." the second time she sang to herself," happy birthday to you..." both times at an audiable volume... i was standing about 2-3 metres away? maybe i was hearing things... or they staff just think that we were all deaf... other than that i must say i had a great time... with or without the hilarious staff... so if you think that $35 for a buffet meal is reasonable enough... make it a point to celebrate your birthdays there... if anything you get a kick out of the nonsense the staff dish out...

a taiwan trip...

hihi...
sigh... i juz came back from taiwan... where the temperature is at about 20 degrees and everyone don't wear anything that the sleves end above the elbow... everyone tries to drag you into their shop for a meal... they greet you when you enter into a shop and say "thanks and come again" after you leave regardless if you bought something... so nice... unlike singapore sales people... no offence to anyone... the cab drivers are very skilled... they weave through anything... actually everyone weave through everything...

i reached the airport in taipei in the noon of the 19th of march...the sky is always cloudly... not hazy mind you... it's CLOUDLY... although it LOOKS hazy... apparently it's super high altitude so the top of the mountains are always covered with clouds...

i booked into a 2 or 3 star hotel... i can't really tell... we reached, dumped the bags and went walking around... the first thing that we saw was... the group twins... they were doing some endoresment or they promoting their album... quite cool... actually very cool... this day was suppose to be the day that taiwanese people were protesting about the previous year's presidential elections... but i didn't manage to see anything... but it was all over the news that evening... then after that we went to the tallest place in the world... taipei 101... even though its like taipei 101 the building's highest level is 89... the observertory... the lift takes only 38 sec to reach the top... goes up at 1010metres per seconds... the ride down takes longer... later in the evening is spent at a night market... this place is like famous for snake eating... i saw them butcher this snake... interesting... this place is also famous for jade shops... and sex shops...

second day started with a tour of chiang kai sheik memorial... nothing much... fed some koi at a pond... then off to dan shui for some ah gei... took a super long trip all the way there... then we walked... and WALKED... walked from the station of dan shui to lua ren jie... old people's street... up a hill and to the most famous ah gei shop in taiwan... ah gei if u don't know is a fried beancurd that is filled with dong fen... glass noodles... it's different from the dong fen in singapore cause it really melts in your mouth... singapore's one is like rubbery... then we walked to yu ren ma tuo... fishermen's wharf... far away... it's like an hour's walk... then we took a five minute bus ride back to the mrt station... then we went back to lua ren jie to meet a taiwan fren... xian mai... there we bought afew local delights... i bought some pastry made with winter melon paste... the shop is super packed... and the boss is quite an ass... he pushes people out of his shop... xiao mai says it's cause the shop is so famous he can afford to do things like that... still it's a bad rep... opposite the shop is this shop sells fish crackers... this is also famous... then there's this thing call iron eggs... this i didn't buy... black eggs that are harder than normal... dosen't sound too appealing... the later part of the day was spent at xi men di... which is where the hotel is... almost watched a art flick about jap porn stars... in taiwan you only need to be 18 to watch an ra flick... it's like super liberal... there's even nudity in the newspaper... not tabloids...

the third day began with a trip to the hot springs area... went to another place... bei tou... soaked in water... hot water... 43 degrees to be exact... it is hot... super hot... then went to a book store that opens 24 hours... it's like borders... everyone sits down and read... i saw this book about cities of the world... for each city they'll name some famous ppeople... for singapore it's annabel chong... hahaha... if you don't know who this is then ask around... the night is also spent at another night market... had chicken ass... chicken cutlet... smelly tofu... almost died of all the oil...

this morning i went to sun yat san's memorial... this is actually an art muesum... didn't go in in the end... i did go to the memorial part... they have this 25 guidelines for good governments...
more people should read this...

this is quite a good trip... hahahahahahaa... this is tiring... the typing not the trip...

easily contented...

have you ever thought what you would be when you grow up?
have you ever thought what you turn out to be would make you happy?
but lets not go that far...
i'm only so young...
i for one seem to be easily contented...
sure i get dissappointed...
but it doesn't happen very often...

ultimate boredom...

okie... i'm like super bored now...
so bored that i even created this so that i can write down my boredom...
and maybe kick it out the door/window/life...
ever felt so bored that you know that whatever you do can hardly help appeace that itching urge to entertain yourself?
this is probably how i feel right now...
all the usual stuff that could enterain me just seems so monotonous and routine that i can hardly bring myself to do them...
sounds like my life is so freaking exciting that nothing new seems to hold my attention?
welll the opposite is more true...
life has become so routine that all the exciement seem to blend into the monotonoty...
and the worse part is that i am now so comfortable with the routine that it's probably out of characther to break the routine to do something more exciting with my life...
army kinds of does that to people...
sounds so much like bitching to me...
probably it's cause i don't bitch enough in real life...
boredom is what actually drives me in life...
it prevents me from stagnating in life...
gets me out of the house...
to try new things...
i actually feels better now...
i wonder who will actually read this...
if i don't tell anyone about this blog then who is going to know this exist and come online to read this?
maybe the people who run this webblog will know this exist...
but then again why will they read this when probably like 10s of thousands of people write stuff like this almost everyother day?
probably not everyother day...
it'll more like everyday...
okie i'm now really less bored...
but i am getting bored with the writing...
and the whinning....
whine whine whine...
that's like all i've been doing...

ultimate means the greatest possiblity...
boredom means well... the state of feeling bored?
well it's more like there's nothing to do and you start to feel restless...
and you feel like scratching your eyes out so that the pain will numb the boredom...
but i'm not that saddistic...
and i'm not a big fan of pain either...
so ultimate boredom is like boredom to the max...
you think you could not possibly get anymore bored...
if i did, i probably need professional help...
somethimes the surrounding will also help to contribute to this boredom...
sometimes it'll entertain you for sure...
but today is a super slow sunday...
and the haze is back...
makes the sky look so sad....
really sad...
it making me sad...
there's like no sun...
but then again the temperature is oh so high...
it's actually blistering hot...
even though i'm quite used to it...
it still makes for an uncomfortable day...
hopefully a refreshing rain or thunderstorm would be good...
nothing cures the blues like a theraputic precipitation...
okie... not everyone like the rain...
but in this case it's gonna be good cause it'll remove all that crap haze freeloading in the air...
clean air is great air...
wouln't have it anyother way...
and the rain will bring down the temperature...
although in singapore that's not always true...
it usually just makes it so humid that it feels like a sauna as you walk you can feel the hot air rising up from beneth you...
it's all the damn concrete jungle phenomenome...
traps heat like it's the current 'IN' thing...
now i feel like the rambling swede on the show 'sheep in the city'...
hahahaha... that's quite a good show...
it's like reno but for kids...
it's a politically incorrect cartoon...
this blogging thing is quite theraputic...
i feels so much better...
maybe it's the feeling of accomplishment for today...
maybe it's the venting of all the pent up stuff...
