one last hurrah...

One more paper left. That's still 4 days away. I spent the later half and today doing nothing but trying to NOT study. Almost caved in to peer pressure when Eric, Jun, Ah Seng tried to get me to go study. Haha... They didn't try hard. Anyways, I caved just now. I got the weird feeling you get in your tummy (area may differ in different individuals, so...) when you get excited or scared. So I caved from not studying and went to arrange all the notes for the Thursday paper. I must say that it was a job well done, it will make studying that much easier.

Well, it begins again once more tomorrow. The studying I mean, not the funny feeling.

Looking forward to the week actually. On Tuesday, we are watching Spiderman 3. That's right, tickets on opening day!!! Muhahahahahaahahaahahahahahhahahahahahha...

After the paper on Thursday, some of my English major friends are going to West Coast Park for a pinic. Hmmm... An English pinic, sounds great. It also marks the end of the exams and the Second year. I must admit that school is great and made friends everywhere. Became more famous in the department. Might be infamous though.

On Saturday, there is a church family day at Sentosa, sandcastle building. Ultra fun. Going to help. That might mean that I might not be able to build my sand empire but... The only downer is that I have to be there at 0730. That's right, another Saturday that starts before the sun rises. Will stay behind at Sentosa to play after. Yay!!!

After that, I have a long overdued class gathering that evening. Super looking forward to it. A BBQ at Guanda's place. How fun is that going to be? I hoping lots. Haven't seen many of those ppl in a gazzillion years.

I think this week will be great.

Anyways, noticed that the hoo-haa over the overactive tagboard has finally died down. Might be the fact that the kids are having exams. But it was good while it lasted. Please feel free to tag anything you want.

tele-marketers...

Since i couldn't sleep, i decided to make an entry about a tele-marketer call that happened just now.

Tele-marketer: Hello, do you currently subscribe to Starhub Cable Television?

Me: Yea. (i was actually watching a cable show.)

Tele-marketer: Okie, then do you use Starhub Internet Services as well?

Me: Is this one of those make-you-subscribe-to-something type of call?

Tele-marketer: Haha...

Me: Okie then, i wouldn't be requiring any of your services then.

Tele-marketer: Okie, thanks for your time. (sounding really chirpy...)

The first thing i want to ask is whether Starhub are slavedrivers or their Tele-marketers all work real late. The call came at about 8pm. And the other thing is, how come she sounded so happy even though she was rejected?

Anyways, she sounded cute.

it starts tomorrow...

Well, after studying at home for 3 days, i decided that i would get out of the house to study. So in the end, i went to the Starbucks at One Fullerton. Well, I spent $10.15 for 3 and a half hours of study time. That's about $2.90 an hour. Alot more than what I spent for the whole week.

Tomorrow, the exams start. Did you know that exams is a word that is clipped? The original word was examinations. I hope that was right. Haha.

I have finally learnt to draw linguistic tress from the top down. I sure you people reading this are all thinking that you've all learnt to do it weeks ago. Hope everything goes well tomorrow, such as me waking up on time.

curve balls and lemonade...

crap week leading up to the exams... crap results... feel like crap too...

need assurance from above... dun know what to do or what to believe anymore...

crap...

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor
Illusion never changed
Into something real I'm wide awake and I can see the perfect sky is torn
You're a little late
I'm already torn

farewell gifts...

i realised that the pictures are kinda blur... but... can see can liao lah...
Well i couldn't find a gift that came in a set of 5, even though i asked like half the world. But at least these photoframes are one of a kind and they are impossible to pirate.
So if this were a Mastercard Advertisement, it'll sound something like this:
Photoframes from Ikea: $5.80
Workmanship: Gazzillion dollars.
Photoframes after workmanship: Priceless.
Talk about value add.

approached...

Okie, due to the many people asking for a post. (Dun want to dissappoint half the word reading my blog and the whole world who tags on my tagboard.)

Today I got apporached by a evangelist from an independant church. Okie not to say all independant churches are filled with people who cannot differentiate reality and fantasy... but you get the idea that I was not really comfortable.

Apparently, this evangelist came up and started talking. I wasn't going to turn her down, so just listen, might pick up something good. But as it went along, I realised that the stuff they were preaching and the stuff that we preach were totally different.

Stuff like: there is a God the Father and there is also a god the mother.

And stuff like: we shouldn't be having Sunday service and Christmas because the dates follow the Roman calander and well... that's just a pagan holiday.

And more stuff like: you know why so many Christians died in the 2004 tsunami? It's because they didn't believe in the correct Christiany.

You get the idea, Christians but like not very Christiany.

So while waiting for Benedict, I was having a conversation with this evangelist from South Korea. She speaks mandarin and half past six... maybe less... english. In the end, she tried to get me to go to the church (which she claims to be a 3 minute walk away, but the 5 minute talk she claims her little speech was in the begining was taking almost 12... so by simple logic... the church might be 7 minutes away?) and watch a 10 minute video. (same logic will give 24 minutes)

Yup, she also claims that there are many people there and I don't need to be worried that I'll be the only one there. Apparently, the selling point of their Christiany is that they don't have Sunday service, she repeated this many times.

Luckly Benedict called and I had to leave. Like talk back in English still manybe can, but in mandarin? Lost already. The last thing she said before I left was, "So, how can I contact you?" I was like, "What?!?! you still want to talk?" So I said, "It's okie, I'll call you." Can see that she heard it many times and knows that I'll never call her back. Haha... So one night stand.

Crossing the bridge to Ikea, there were 2 more people there "selling" this Chirstiany. I flashed the pamphlet she gave me like it was a flag day sticker and entered the safety of Ikea. Felt abit sick after that, must be the weird thoughts floating through my head. Would expalin why I was farting more than usual, trying to expel all the "bad air"

farewell 2007...

The Co-aSSes and I...
Awards and Uniform and I...

The Sec 4s... My Sub-coy... So small (the pic, not the sub-coy)

Farewell was on Friday. The fun lasted till Saturday morning.
The weather didn't co-operate, it rained. No parade, I'm sure the only person who was happy was Marshall. He was suppose to be the parade commander but parade got cancelled and a relatively informal one was held in the audit.
When kids complain asking why they only get to stay in Full-Uniform for an hour, you know something is just wrong. Maybe it's just because it's the last time they will probably ever wear it. For the Founders' Men, there is still the Founders' Awards Presentation. So they draged the time they were in uniform by taking some photos.
The kids went to play some game. The officers took some time to decide who to promote and take over the company. It was fruitful. Decisions were hard.
Last minute Farewell "gifts" for my portfolios. Er... written on empty CDs. I am making the real gift now. If people form the CO-aSSes portfolio are reading this, you probably get them when you meet me for lunch. So dinner. Soggy fish and chips. At least the fellowship was good.
Then devotion and special event. Wenjie gave his testimony which was not really that touching. Haha. Then he got the entire batch to go up and sing the Budgie Song. Er... it's just weird lah. I think Miss Lily did a great job. She made sashes for all the Sec 4s and awarded them each a positive sounding award. Then the Sec 4s also got this really weird pen. It has a compass on one side and a thermometer on the other. So when you are lost, you can try to find your directions and tell the temperature AND in extreme situations, you can even write a last message on some rock somewhere. (in case really lost) There was promotion too, and finally, the new company leaders were announced.
Then all the younger kids went home. And the Sec 4s started to play soccer while the AQ people went to bed after an inspiring video of past year AQs. Played soccer till 2ish. The AQ people woke up at 3ish. Wave goodbye to them, wished them good luck. Macs arrived. Ate till 5ish, okie, I didn't eat. Talked to some of them. Went up to the room to try to sleep. Eric came in with some kids to play Fatal Frame. They screamed. Act like nothing happened, continued to sleep. Lijia called me at six to ask me to open the gate. I reached the gate, the Auntie came so I didn't need to open it anymore. Bad timing. Went back up to the room, watched them play Winning11 till seven thirty. Finally got them to break "camp". Nat and some of the rest stayed behind to play soccer again. Whatever, went home at 8. Haha.
Haha. That's all folks. The end of an era. This was indeed a good batch. Whenever you have people stepping up to do things, and these aren't the appointed leaders mind you. You know that they are special. It was a fun ride.
