scratch me...

Yesterday, I went for the second day of the module talks. I feel comforted by the fact that the proffessors that will eventually take my classes, or rather teach the classes i will take, are ultra funny. At least I will never have to complain of being bored in class, I hope not at least.

Well, my day ended with the end of the English Literature talk at 1200. Haha... Okie so then I went back to looking for a pencil case. Have been looking for a pencil case for 3 days already. Apparently, pencil cases are meant for kids. Apparently, society do not expect teenagers to carry pencil cases above the age of 12. It would explain the designs of the pencil cases that I've encountered over the last 3 days. All the pencil cases seemed to be designed with a 7 year old kid in mind.

Okie anyways, my friends and I went back to looking for a pencil case that wouldn't make me the centre of attention if I brought it to school. Finally, while walking down CityLink towards Suntec, we managed to find a pencil case that seemed to be marketed towards "older people". Not OLD, 50 years old, just older. Well, the shop is 37 degrees.(for all those who are also looking for pencil cases) Well as usual, after buying something, you'll be able to find the thing that you've been looking for for so long.

At Suntec, we found MORE pencil cases, at the Wallet shop. At least the designs weren't appealing. To me at least. Since we're at the Wallet Shop, we just took a look at some of the wallets. While walking around, I saw a sign that states that if I spent more than $20 at the Wallet shop, I entitled to buy a pencil case for $1.90. Bummer...

But that's besides the point. The next point is the main reason that I'm blogging this down. One of the wallets on sale was a super nice looking leather wallet. It had the look of a old wallet with character, and the best part is... It's still new. Doesn't make much sense right? But when have I made too much sense? The wallet comes with a small file. Not a file for putting paper, a file for woodwork or whatever. On the back of the file, it states: Use this file to scratch on leather, also able to scratch demin. Okie I know why some people would scratch their new jeans. But the wallet already looks like it's been sold by a wandering merchant that doesn't take care of his wares. I'm not going to use a file to bloddy scratch the nice smooth leather. *imagine touching smooth leather* Sure it's a great marketing gimmick. You scratch it your way, I'll scratch my wallet my way. In the end, you get TWO different designs but really who will scratch it? What if the scratches look like chicken scratches?!?! It'll look bad!!!

Anyways, this entry is written in proper sentances. With all the Capitals and punctuations.

real vs reel...

these days... it's hard to say what's real and what's surreal... most of these things would fit snugly into any daytime soap / channel 8 drama / b-grade movie / straight to video movies... the following incidents will help prove my point...

firstly, starting with the least important event... fredinand, world famous defender playing for equally famous club man-u... okie... the big hoo-haa revolves around his contract signing...
question: would you sign a contract that gives you 100,000 pounds a week?
answer: most people would... fredinand would try to push it up to 120,000 pounds a week...
question: what do you need so much money for???
answer: run your own army???
maybe he just lives in a very expensive world... honestly... would someone jeopardise his bright *bling bling* future at man-u just because they refuse to pay him an additional 20,000 pounds??? sure it's a huge amount... but it's hardly worth the risk... especially since the person who is egging him on is the money sucking agent...

second incident... this may seem as a less important incident but at least this doesn't concern alot of money... it's concerns sentiments... so it's more important...
it's concerning the hijacking of blogs... inculding the world famous blog xiaxue's... i cannot actually believe that people in singapore are free enough to hijack then leave a mean remark on the blog of people... *opps* maybe the person is not singaporean... maybe it's some creep from who-knoes-where with no job and too much free time... singapore is really somewhere where everything makes the papers... at least they didn't put it on the front page... when in your primary school education did your teacher tell you that taking revenge by defacing other people stuff is an acceptable way to settle a difference/misunderstanding??? personelly... if it happened i must have slept through that one particular class...

the last one is the most important too... it would feel trivialised by the above incidents... but i'm sure i wouldn't downplay it's impact...
the last incident is the recent bombing of the london tube... terrorism is indeed the way to get the attention of your local goverment now... i'm not sure what they teach in terrorism primary school but i'm sure the way they taught us in my primary school to reach out to our government was to write a letter... a normal one... not one laced with anthrax... so does bombing an area and killing many many people really achieve the expected results that the terrorist set out to achieve??? lets's see... after the bombing... usually the bomber dies in the explosion leaving the family to do an underground funeral but his worth is now zlitch, security is heighten making it harder to meet, some guy from overseas hiding in a cave takes responsibilty laughing at the state of the governement in some video... but i guess they did it for some higher calling... but personelly... i hope someone reads this and tells the terrorist they know and let them know that a normal letter is sufficient... imagine... who would let you do anything important if your main aim in live is to blow up yourself and kill many many people around you??? i bet they didn't tell you this in terrorist primary school...

some real world solutions to the above mentioned reel world events...

for the first one... fredinand unless you are going to donate the 20,000 pounds to the nkf every month don't be such a fool and push for it... you are replaceable in the eyes of the glazer brothers...
for the second one... plz... hijacking blogs happen to be a chargable offence... and i'm very proud of the police force in singapore... they will find you sooner or later... just set up your own world famous blog and blast her back...
for the third one... i think i said it already... write a normal letter... i think the governments involved will take you more seriously since you know how to value live... you would also last long enough to see the future that is your goal...

tv...

okie... does anyone actually know the show scrubs??? it's this show about doctors ala ER... only it's a comedy... it used to be shown on sat at 7pm... so it's not one of those shows thats too risque or crude... it was actually funny...

then it got pushed back to sat 1am... simpsons were back and there apprently was no slots left for a show like this... at this timeslot... the show became more explicit... is it because it was more explicit so it got pushed to this slot where it's target audience, young yuppies, were out partying... or was it not recieving enough ratings so it got pushed to a time where it's target audience is out partying???

okie for future notice... channel five doesn't really seem to understand how the tv thing work... although they are the ONLY free to air english channel around... they air whatever whenever they want and expect people to tune in... at least channel 8 and channel U do take into consideration what's airing on the other channel before they put their hyped up movies into the slots... for example... when channel 5 is showing their monthly hyped up movie... the respective channel 8 and U movie on that day would usually be a rerun...

pls... channel five pls take a lesson to plan your programmes... the timing just forces people to watch crap... like manhunt??? as a guy it's a lame show... actually all the bachelor and it's female counterpart are lame... lame lame lame... do people watch crap like this??? unfortunately, yes... people watch this because the show is shown on primetime... no other shows... no choice...

well i personelly don't watch buffy... but it is quite a famous show... but did you know that channel 5 used to air it at 12 midnight??? it was not a rerun... it was a NEW season... just like one tree hill... 12 midnight... new season... so channel5 ASSuMEs that the target audience of these shows, which happened to be teens would stay up late to watch the show... as if they have no school the next day...

which then brings me to the next point... channel five shows reruns at primetime... and it's not a famous/ popular/ fanatically followed show like friends or desperate housewives... for your info... desperated housewives is now re-runing at 1am... they are re-running the channel 5 made show missing... they are re-showing missing on wednesday at 10pm... and in the papers, it boldly states encore...

now scrubs is showing everynight at 2am... i think it's every morning... i'm not sure if it's a rerun or a new season... but i heard it got canned in the US...

time...

time is fortunately an abstract concept...
fortunate because i have too much of it yet i haven't done all that i wanted to accomplish this couple of months... since i cleared leave for army in late february... i'm how people would describe as free... due to the fact that i've never had the chance to enjoy such a long break... i mean 2 weeks after a levels i entered army... so sad... but at least i'm not alone...

so i wasn't in any rush to find a job, entertain myself, take up my time...
but i didn't just slack around the whole day... i went to learn to drive... okie... it doesn't take up the whole day but i didn't want to spend the entire day doing stuff... so then came the time when i went back to bb... boys brigade... well... been there since sec1... 8 years ago... so evenings were then taken up by meetings... once, twice, at least not 3 times a week... first we planned for camp... now it's bible quiz... then when i thought that i could finally go for that ice cream job that i kinda told everyone that i'll be going to work at... i realised that it's already the end of june.... who's going to employ someone for a month when i still have a driving test... one or 2 lessons... friday parades... and maybe one meeting a week... i sure wouldn't...

*sigh!!!*

so much time... yet where did all the time go to??? i wonder about this everytime i look at the clock in the afternoon and wonder what i'll do when i need to find something to do to take up my time...

so now school is starting... yay!!! but i still need money... so probably working in the holidays... hopefully more like it... but i guess that's a story that'll have to wait...

the day we tried to make a difference...

i realsied that there are more important things happening at the bb cares that's i've failed to talk about in the last entry... it's not being near the president... it's not taking a photo with some hong kong bb guy... it's suppose to be the interactions that we have with the people who got invited to the carnival... i could say that this aspect was truely touching and we need more of these sort of actvities... okie... but it's not that touching... at least i can say that i got to see more old people smile than i've seen in awhile... apprently a simple trip out off the welfare home means alot... we were suppose to accompany the old people and bring them around... but the person in-charge on the welfare home side said that it would be good if we let them walk around themselves... that they''ll appreciate the freedom... but our side... said that it's not advisible... even the one to one ratio is not enough... if the elderly fell, the boy may not be able to help them... but then again they are surrounded by boys and officers... so if any of them fell i'm more than sure that there'll be ample help around... but i digress... i think we really should have more of such events... imagine...we brought smiles to the people who came to the carnival and i think that's probably the most important thing... the difference we made...

shocked...

today is sunday...

yesterday is saturday... a very long one actually...

it's the BB cares carnival... kinda screwed up in there... hahaha... okie mabye it's not as funny to the people involved... but it was kinda fun... it felt good also in a sense... got to see mr nathan... the president... not just another nathan... was within 3 metres of nathan... could have run up to him to give him a hug... but no... my left toes were in soggy socks and my right foot was hurting from the sprain on tues... so no running... and much less hugging...

now... on to the part where i kinda screwed up... well every bb coy(company) has a beneficery... we have two... they were suppose to bring 40 people... we were suppose to have 40 boys to pair up with them and bring them around to have some fun and food... okie... we met the first group... and they had 32 people.. i thought that okie... maybe 8 old people couldn't come due to old people problems... anyways we're short of boys, so it's a good thing... okie we paired up the kids with the old people and off they went... after that sheow en called to say that the second group is here!!! major probem liao... the second group had more than 30 people also... problem... where to get boys now?!?!?!

anyways we finally got some help from 2nd coy... thanx if any one you are reading... i'm assUnMING that this blog is famous enough... then things got back to normal... then came 12 oclock... time for them to leave.. then i said goodbye... then they went off... 1230 i got another phone call... this is from the officer incharge of the carpark... bummer i thought they said that we got another beneficery... 2nd shock of the day... told sheow en... then we went to the carpark to clarify... found out that the bus is here to PICK up... not LEAVE... old people... i then found out that the benefricery is still here... opps... me bad...

anyways... got to see nathan... one good thing... then took a photo with some hong kong bb officers... hahaha... that's another good thing i think... gave abit of publicity to the mee soto in my hand but it's okie...

24 hours...

okie... yesterday was farewell... it started at 3pm... farewell is the "sad" time of the year when the sec4 of the company leave to start studying for the o levels... 3 months after the school states that sec4 do not have to go for cca anymore...

i don't really like farewell... it's one of those things that i feel is not good for the emotional soul...

as a boy in sec1 or 2 in the company it's like you feel nothing much...

"hmmmm... who's that??? i don't really know him... wow... he did what??? sorry but it didn't really concern me..."

as a boys in sec 3... you feel excited/lost/anxious among others...

"oh NO!!! my leaders are leaving... now i'll have to do those thing... what if i fail?!?!?!?!?!"

as a sec4 boy... usually they're either very happy or sad...

"hahahaha!!! no more crap to do.... i'm free!!!"

or

"so sad i'm leaving... wonder if the company will miss me???"

then as 1st year primers (for people reading who don't know who these are... they are people who left school and have come back to serve in the company but have not reached 18 years old... therefore not old enough to be officers... used to be known as seniors...) they'll feel like...

"okie... just did this last year... what?!? they're doing this for them??? mine kinda sucked last year..."

then as a 2nd year primer...

"been here... done that... now one more time..."

for old/older people like me... we'll probably be comforting ourselves...

"hahaha... mine farewell was better!!!"

with everyone feeling abit differrent things... people will start asking questions like...

"why so sad???"

that will recieve answers such as...

"huh?"

anyways... because the event is the first event ever held by sec3s... usually it goes well and no one really blames people for mistakes...
this year's farewell was okie... nothing fantastic... the show could have been better... but kudos to david choo and his great devotion...

another officer who recently got appointed to a rank... (longer way of saying promoted) congrates ben... ben introduce me to the round ball of a thing at the tip of his cap... apparently according to him it contains sand... he said it's very nice to squeeze... so i... itchy fingers... went to start squeezing it...

later i told ben in front of other officers and primers...

"i like to stand behind you now cause i can sueeze your ball..." apparently this shocked everyone... ben took a step away from me... i explained i was refering to his ball on the top of his cap...

later i recieved three netballs from sq... was to return to esther today... because the of naughty bb boys who might just kick the balls because they are bored... i had to make afew remarks...

"need to go check on my balls..."

actually it's quite funny... in a sense... after explaining like a million times...

anyways... after a 3 hour nap... slept around 4 woke about 7... went for a bible quiz recce at sembawang... got to know the boys better...especially sherman, joshua... realised that they are all addicted to big glup... to all 7-11 store people... set up a better store in dover... losing money due to no coke in big glup...

well the recce was more like a stroll in the park... the boys could have been stretched some more... so what i have to say about the recce after the recce is something along the lines of," might as well have not gone..."

during the recce... may called me... everytime she calls me after a camp... it's bad news... the last time she lost a swiss army knife thingy... this time she told me she lost a digital camera... i was more or less speachless... what really could i say... i told her that i'll go back to school later t help her check the room...

okie channel 8 drama scriptwriters please take note...

after talking for like 5 minute... she excuses herself from the phone... seconds later... she tells me that the camera was in her friend's bag... okie... nothing to say... maybe just wanna strangle her on sunday... sunday then say...

anyways... reached back school around 1... surprise surprise... esther's not in school yet.. her team is already here... okie not that surprised... it's esther... she's like late 97.8% of the time...

wait wait wait...

play carrom with sherman, joshua toh, timo...

go dover with sherman for dessert...

FINALLY!!! esther calls...

go back to school...

give her the 3 balls...

channel 8 drama department... pencils please...

esther tells me...

"this yellow ball not mine... it's suppose to be a white ball..."

ARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!?!?!?!!?!?!!?!?!?!!?!!?!?!!?!!?!!?!?!

okie call sq...

sq confirms the ball is correct...

turn around to talk to esther... okie esther has dissappeared...

but hey... sees ziyi and jubjie instead...

wait wait wait...

esther returns...

channel 8 drama department get ready for the shock of the century...

"sorry ah alvin... it's correct..."

okie jaw dropping moment... but actually not that shocked... it's esther... known her for many years liao...

honestly... this is like a chinese woman recieving a chinese baby and then telling the nurse that it's the wrong baby... the baby's suppose to be white... or some other race... then after awhile she tells the nurse that it's actually correct... sorry esther this has nothing to do with you thinking that the yellow ball is suppose to be white... :)

yay!!! finally can go home... wave bye to miss thio... checks time... 3pm

this is like the most happening 24 hours in awhile...

an update...

due to the lack of slow mornings, lazy afternoons and lonely nights... entries have been non-existant...

hahaha...

actually... i was more thinking of something to write about... but then again i couldn't find something to write about...

anyways... i watched fantastic 4 yesterday... it was to say in a few words... less than fantastic...
it was the begining of the fan 4... the flick was like less than memorable... i'll probably forget it in afew days...

lets see... was there any famous lines that'll go down in history???

maybe," it's clobbering time!!!"

wait...

that's already made famous by the comic...

the flick's abit cliche... watch spider-man...

the hero get powers... the individual powers of the fan 4... peter parker gets bitten by radioactive spider...

the people shun them... debbs... ben's wife leaves him... in peter's case he remains a loser...

the heros kick some bad guy butt... fan 4 kick dr dooms' ass at a new york road junction... spidey kick green goblin's butt/dr oct all over different parts of new york...

the people stand up for their new heroes... fan 4 becomes official superhero group... spidey has normal people helping him fight super villians... exp: new yorkers on bridge flinging stuff at green goblin and mary j. watson distracting spidey while fighting dr oct...

okie everything happens in new york... stan lee works there...
the flick's leaving my mind already...

hahaha...

and did you know...

well i didn't...

that sue storm is allergic to orchids... opps have to cancel that trip to singapore..

that "it's clobbering time" is not something that ben came up with... some marketing executive came up with it to try to sell the toy of the thing... everything's about marketing...

that dr doom lives like afew blocks from the fan 4's building baxter building... talk about choosing better neighbours...

well obviously i've forgotten it already...
