time...
okie... i watched a movie today... fearless... it's the most important movie of jet li's movie carrer because it's the LAST martial arts movie that he's going to appear in... well i guess the amazing thing is not that i actually watched a movie like fearless... the amazing thing is that i watched it at empress...
where is this empress you may ask... you may even ask why it is so amazing that i would watch a movie there... well empress is one of the first multi-screen cinemas in singapore... it was the place to be about 10 years ago... then it had 3 screens and the line to the ticket counter is one that would snake around the place and it would move at a SLOW snail pace... today it is still a 3 screen "multi-screen" cinema... they even still have hand written tickets that are a reminder to my childhood... the place is unfortunately tearing itself down... it is old and it belongs to an era long past... the only good thing which is also the only reason why we went there to watch the movie was because the price for a weekend movie is also stuck in the era it belongs to... at $7... sure the comfort isn't quite there... but i guess one cannot really ask for everything... if the cinema survives till i'm a senior citizen... i'll be able to watch movies there at $3.50 every weekday... can't wait... but that be another story in about 34 years... so watch this space...
anyways... maybe the movie wasn't as exciting for me.. but i was thinking about something during the movie... recently... i have stopped going to the cinemas every week... yes... i used to watch a movie every week... at least one... but then again... so do alot of people i know...
well recently... i started watching movies again... it's because there are a couple of stuff that i wanted to watch... well... even though movies have now all more or less standardise themselves at around 2 hours... recently the time during movies just seem to run that much slower... maybe i'm getting older... and the time outside the movies are running at just that much bit faster... maybe i'm just getting less enjoyment out of the flicks... tomolo i'll be watching fun with dick and jane... it's suppose to be funny... i hope i don't feel it's draggy...
