pseudo soccer god speaks once more...
the pseudo soccer god has spoken once more... this time while watching the fianls of the Asean Football Cup, formally known as the Tiger Cup... anyways... Singapore won... they managed to draw 1-1 in Thailand... they mangaged to score an 82nd minute goal... it was good... the goal i mean... it was one of those goals that could be the goal of the tournament...
well... back to the reason for this entry... the pseudo soccer god... that's my dad by the way... and i dun like watching soccer matches with my parents... they think they know the game like they invented it... anyways... the pseudo soccer god sways in and out supporting Singapore... after Thailand scored the first goal... he kept saying stuff like how Singapore cannot kick a ball properly and they would lose... and losing would be good for Singapore because... well they just don't deserve to win... and right before Amri scored the equaliser for Singapore... he replayed his prediction for Singapore... it wasn't nice... because deep down... all Singaporeans support Singapore football... no matter what they say on the outside... so that's a major reason i don't like to watch soccer with dad...
then out of nowhere... Singapore scored... and it was a scorcher... i liked it... then the pseudo soccer god changed his tune... the "support Singapore" tape started rolling and occassionally hit a bump and stopped... but it quickly started playing again... especially since Singapore played fairly better in the last 10 minutes... well a comment for everything isn't bad... just pretty irritating...
anyways... now for MY opinion... i thought the Lions played pretty well... it wasn't anything like world class smooth flowing football... but it was good enough... did Singapore play like they deserved to win? not really... but they played like they wanted to win more... more than the Thais... AND the most important thing is that they took their chances better... the Thais had their chances and they blew it... they missed one great chance... Lionel Lewis was stranded but the defence managed to stop the ball from going in... yup... they definately wanted to win more...
refereeing is a tough job... but i think the referees choosen for the finals and the Chinese referee that refereed the Singapore-Malaysia match all suck.... to the core... okie they are all human... but kids could have made better decisions... and lesser enemies...
Yay!!! Singapore won...
