how madagascar got it's name...
ever wondered how madagascar got it's name?
it all started in the 1890s... when the motor car was still a relative new invention... madagascar at that time was not clled madagascar... let's just call it island x...
this missonary left italy and made his way to africa... he started at the top of africa and made his way down along the east coast towards the cape of good hope... along the way he spread the good word... when he reached the cape of good hope he decided to travel along the west coast back up to europe...
after a few days of walking along the beach he saw a island in the distance... he asked some locals about the island but no one seemed to know much about it... so this missionary thought that it must be God's will that he saw this island that no one knew much about... so after he secured the services of a local fisherman, he made his way across the straits to island x...
upon reaching the island he told the fisherman to come back in 365 days to pick him up... after he saw the boat chugg farther and farther away he entered into the dark forbidding forest... he walked and then he walked some more... but after 3 days the missionary fainted... when he woke up he found himself in a village populated by short people... the missonary tried to talk to them but none knew what he was saying... and he knew not what they were saying as well...
after afew months the missonary taught some of them how to speak and he in turn learnt their language... now at least they could understand each other... the missionary started telling stories about the outside world and the short people were amazed at the wonders of the world...
