art...

Who decides what is art and what isn't?

Who decides how much each piece of "art" cost?

Today, I visited the art gallery at ION. And half the stuff seem like stuff any 5 year old could conjure up.

And each piece cost thousands of dollars.

I don't mind being the person who says how much each piece cost though.

Just like literature - all you need is a bunch of old white male professor sitting around saying what book is good and what is not.

I think it depends on how much the artist puts his/her time on it, its cost to create the painting (canvas, paints, studio rental, etc...), plus the art gallery comission and on top of all this how much he/she expects to make from all the paintings he/she made to cover his/her living expenses and build his/her saving.

Hahaha....just a thought.
