here and there...
hmmm… been blogging short entries lately… hahaha… i wonder why… it’s like there’s nothing much to write about…
anyways… people have been moving houses lately… yup but then so what??? It’s not like they’re moving out of the country… kitty’s moved to the east… hmmm… that’s actually quite far away… SQ’s moving to queenstown… haiz… that’s quite far away also… in Singapore terms everything’s suppose to be close to each other… but then again… it is further away than his current house…
they are playing “meet the parents” again… hmmm… channel five’s like running out of stuff to show on tv… and the planning’s quite weird recently also… or maybe it’s just HBO trying to be funny… channel five’s been advertising the show “shaighai knights” for like a month… then suddenly I see HBO advertise that on the same day they are showing “harry potter 3”… quite a blunt attempt to get ratings…
okie… lit is a really burner of holes in the wallet… every 2 weeks we have to get another book… must find another cheaper alternative… this time it’s “the bluest eye” by toni morrison… it’s some book about sex, race and more sex… i think the main idea was the part about the mentality of african americans in the early 1900s… well apparently at that time everyone thought that african americans were ugly… even the african americans themselves… so there was this young african american girls who wanted the blue eyes of the white people…well… in the end she went to look for this self declared clergyman… this guy managed to convince her that she had blue eyes which happens to turn her mad… this is one screwed up book actually… it’s worse than the hemingway book “the sun also rises”… if the point of the hemingways’ book is its pointlessness then the point of morrison’s book is the self condemnation of her people… all the african americans hate each other… i can’t believe that a race like that can survive a period like that… the only reason that there are still african americans seemed to be that they have illegitimate children all the time…
a bore of a book… i give it half a thumb up for the fact that it is only 200 odd pages… and I managed to finish it in 2 days… now I have to come up with stuff to say about the book...
hmmm… when girls look at other girls… it seems totally fine with society… when they say stuff like “wow she’s pretty…” it’s still okie… but when guys look at girls we are “hum sup”… worse are the guys that look at guys… don’t need for me to say what I think about it… later I get sued…
by the way if you haven’t heard… the 2 buggers that wrote racist remarks were sent to jail… I think it’s abit over the top… can u imagine when the guy goes to jail… the other inmates will ask stuff like,” so… what are you in for? i’m here cause i robbed a bank…” then these 2 guys will say something like,” oh… nothing much… I just blogged some racist remarks…” i believe the other inmates would spend the rest of the day laughing… furthermore… can u imagine if it was some muslim inmate who asks him this question??? well i guess it would be more feasible if he was fined… i think he was but a bigger fine should have been given… and maybe ordered to do community service… in a muslim community… some cross culture exposure would be good… maybe ban him from blogging… hahaha…
oh ya… there’s this new thingy about google earth.. it’s really cool…
